My Wiki: http://elisebogaards.wikispaces.com/
A wiki is different from a blog in many ways. A blog is one persons opinion on a subject and other people view it and read it from the authors point of view. However a wiki is a website that allows more than one author to contribute to the information. When I first heard of this it was in regards to Wikipedia (the online enclycloedia) and I thought it was a great idea and an interesting way to gather information. Now as I have been told by my university that Wikipedia is not a credible souse to gather your information for academic essays or information reports but would be a great recourse for the classroom.
Students would be able to access each others wiki sites and comment on their information, interact with one another and share what they have learnt. It would be great for an assessment piece.
My weebly: http://elisebogaards.weebly.com/
I also created a weebly site. I must say that I enjoyed creating my weebly account better that my wiki one as it was easier to move things around the way you want them. Also other peole are unable to access your account and add information that may be untrue or incorrect. Although both sites are a valuable tool to use in the classroom.
I look forward to hearing your comments.
Ta Elise :)
Hi Elise!
ReplyDeleteI notice that you haven't yet mentioned a few tools which Emily Lehmann (http://s0177581.blogspot.com) and i have found through sharing and interacting on one another's blogs. To assist you on your learning journey perhaps you should check some of them out as they have the potential to become great resources when you are teaching in the classroom. Some of these include Flickr, Picnik, Voki and Prezi.
If you go onto my blog you'll see a column on the right hand side titled "My Link's"... below are web-links to all the above resources if you're interested in checking them out.
Let me know how you find them.
